In the Stern Center shopping centre in Potsdam, Oktalite equipped the McPaper stationery shop with a new LED lighting design within the scope of renovation. At the customer’s request a special concept was implemented: the recessed spotlight QUIRA is used alternately with the light colour Best Colour and 3,000 Kelvin. While the light over the centre of the room furniture falls, thanks to medium flood reflectors, in a concentrated manner onto the goods, the flood reflector places strong accents on the peripheral areas likewise with a low level of scattered light.
Here the interplay of white shades with Best Colour and 3,000 Kelvin ensures additional excitement. New ceiling panels made it possible to replace the old 100 watt sodium vapour lamps one to one by the modern LED luminaires. The latter are not only energy-efficient, but, due to their small size, also less obtrusive. The new lighting design now ensures an energy saving of about 70 percent. Photos: Christoph Meinschäfer
